This piece began with a few fabulous Lacecap Hydrangeas my friend grows in her garden. She has a wall of them ranging from pink to purple to blue all along the back. They were like little fireworks. Just as I finished the piece on white paper, I realized it would be better on black, like fireworks against the night sky, so I redid it entirely.
